Peter Reeve
Executive Chairman & Chief Executive Officer
Peter Reeve is a seasoned mining executive with more than 40 years of experience across technical, operational, and corporate roles in the global resources industry. He has held senior positions with Rio Tinto, Shell-Billiton, JB Were, and Newcrest Mining, where he led major corporate development initiatives during the company’s significant growth period.
Peter co-founded Ivanhoe Australia with Robert Friedland, building it to a A$1 billion market cap before its acquisition by Rio Tinto. He also served as Executive Chairman and CEO of Aura Energy, which made the major Tiris uranium discovery in Mauritania.
As founder of Archaean Gold, Peter has invested personally and leads the company’s strategic and financial direction with a focus on discovery-driven value creation.
Neil Clifford
Director of Exploration
Neil Clifford is a highly accomplished exploration geologist, having led teams responsible for more than 25 million ounces of gold discoveries worldwide, including Australia’s Sunrise Dam, Mt Todd, Union Reefs, and Tanami deposits.
Neil has held senior exploration roles with AngloGold, Acacia Resources, and Billiton International Metals, and is a founding director of Archaean Gold. His deep geological understanding of West African greenstone belts underpins the company’s exploration success and its commitment to high-quality discovery science.
Dr. Sid’Ahmed Sidi Reyoug
Country Manager, Mauritania
Dr. Sid’Ahmed Sidi Reyoug is a Mauritanian national with a PhD in Geology and extensive experience in mineral exploration and development throughout West Africa. He has worked closely with Mauritania’s Ministry of Mines, helping to shape the country’s modern mining code, and has consulted for numerous international mining companies.
As Archaean Gold’s in-country leader, he has a vast network of people in Mauritania and is an expert in government relations. Fluent in five languages and deeply connected within Mauritania’s business community, Sid’Ahmed plays a pivotal role in advancing Archaean’s exploration and partnership initiatives.
John Madden
Chief Financial Officer & Company Secretary
John Madden brings more than four decades of corporate and financial expertise in the resources sector, including senior roles with Rio Tinto, Indophil Resources, and Aura Energy. At Rio Tinto, he managed strategic planning, feasibility studies, and international finance initiatives.
As GM–Finance and Company Secretary at Indophil Resources, he was instrumental in advancing the Tampakan copper-gold project in the Philippines. John has also been involved in several ASX listings and international resource transactions.
At Archaean Gold, he oversees corporate governance, finance, and capital market engagement.
